Go Cards!!!

For any of you that don't know I am a St. Louis Cardinals fan. And right now they are playing awesome. Last night they beat the Cubs 8-2. It was a great game. I didn't get to go to it, but from watching the highlights it looked liked a great one to go to. Especially when Pujols hit a grand slam WOO HOO!! So here is a video that i found...might not be the playoffs right now but it still is true!! Well, I am off to go running so I will talk to you later and have a great day, and hopefully the Cards will beat the Cubs once AGAIN today!

not much to talk about today

well,

like my title says, don't have a whole lot to update you on. i am just doing the samething as usual. working, going to class, sleeping, working out and then repeat. lol

so on monday i have my first dep meeting, so can't wait to see how that goes. right now i am trying to memorize the few things that i have to. i pretty much have most of done, but i have a few more things left to learn.

otherwise, juts trying to get to my goal weight still. its a slow but steady process right now. also on tuesday, joanna and i are starting what we call "bootcamp" workouts with one of my recruiters. so we have no idea what he is going to make us do. but should be a good time, since i will have moral support since joanna is going to do it with me. but i still think that we are going to get our butts kicked during them. haha

until later,

"Dep Recruit Glover requesting permission to come aboard"

so on tuesday, march 31st, i was up in st. louis to go through meps. i went up the night before since we had to start the day no later than 0530. i went to bed around 2200 on monday night, and from then on, i woke up every hour, on the hour until 0300, when i decided that i might as well just stay up and start to get ready since we were going to get a wake up call at 0400 anyways.

so we got on the bus around 0530 and then went to the federal building where we went through meps. i will have to say that was one of the longest days in my life! all you do there is just hurry up to get to the next sation and just sit around and wait. i had to do a vision and hearing test, blood test, urinalysis, talk with a doctor, and then do a routine physical and some other type of test to make sure that your joints and everything can move well.

anyways, passed everything! thank goodness! i am still over my weight limit that they allow for my height, which by the way they measured me at 71 inches and not 72.....boo! but in my heart i am 72 inches and will always be haha! i was wrong thinking that i was only 6 pounds away from my goal, since i am an inch shorter i have to lose an extra 4 pounds!!! i am back at the last 10 pounds mark......again!!!! but oh well, i can do it!

so after passing the physical part of the whole thing, i finally got to go pick out my job for when i get out of bootcamp. i had a job in mind before i went up there but i wasn't going to hold my breath for it since mainly males get the position before females. when i was talking to chief m, i told him what job i wanted and he was telling me that it might not be possible and that i should be open to ther positions as well. which i didn't mind that. so he couldn't find that job that i wanted, but since he knew where i worked at and that my test scores were pretty good in the science section,.......he made a phone call and there happened to be a postion open for the job that i wanted!!!! woo hoo!!!! so i am going in as a hospital corpsman which sounds like it will be a pretty awesome job. i will also be going in as an e3 which means higher pay for me, which is not a bad deal in itself. so after picking out a job and getting finger printed for the secruity side of it, i swore in and my day was finally over! we left there around 1500 and i was worn out!!

so right now i am in the dep (delayed entry program) so that i can finish school and i will ship out on jan. 20 for bootcamp. so in the meantime, i have have meetings with the recruiters that prepare me for bootcamp and everything else that i need to learn before then. also, every monday i have to call/text chief h to tell him that everything went ok during the weekend and nothing happened that could effect me in the long run. i cant get any tattoos while in dep....not that i want another one right now. i have to make sure that i pass all of the drug test that i have to do......not that i am worried about that part at all...... and get to my goal weight before i have to leave.

so basically that is everything that has happend so far...... more to come later
