My first Christmas overseas!

Happy Holidays!!
I hope that everyone had a great Christmas!
My Christmas was pretty good considering this was my first Christmas that I was away from my family.
Thank goodness for Skype!!
Christmas morning I called back home and opened presents with my family via skype. It was awesome! It kinda felt like I was actually back home in Illinois opening presents with them!
Then I got together with a few people that I work with for a great lunch.
I have to say, it was a pretty decent meal that we all put together.
It was almost as good as back home!
Later in the evening I skyped the other side of my family while they were enjoying their time together. I was actually put on the big screen tv in the living room so that everyone could see. Which was nice to be able to see and talk to everyone :)
So that was my Christmas, even though it wasn't exactly like home, I still think that I had a great one.
Hope you all have a great rest of the year!
Any good plans for the 31st?

News Flash!!! Mail Exchange!!

Hey Guys!!

Hope that you are all having a great week and getting ready for Thanksgiving!!

So I just thought of this because right now I can't seem to fall back to sleep.
I hate when this happens, dont you?

So here's my idea....

I figured that I could put my address up

and if someone mails me anything that

I will mail them something in return.

I figured that you could mail things that represent where you are from, things you like or anything like that.

So as you all know, I am in the military and I am stationed in Italy, so if you decide to do this just make sure that you don't mail some crazy items that the USP would frown upon.

(Plus I love getting mail, it makes my day!)

Just make sure that you put a little note saying where you heard about this and if you have a blog I will start following it and I will write about what I got as well!!

So here is my address:

Jennifer Glover
PSC 827 Box 382
FPO AE 09617

*Just a little note, if you want it to get here in a timely fashion, you need to send it priority just so it wont take months to get over here*

Tell any of your blogging friends, I would love to see how many new people I can meet through this experiment :)

Happy Thanksgiving!!

Things I Miss....

Being stationed in Italy is great and a good oppurtunity for me as well,
but there are a few things that I still miss and sometimes wish that I would have picked some where state side first besides Italy.
So here's my list:
1. Miss my family including my dog, Tinker!
2. Being able to drive
(since I don't have a car over here)
3. Having a full kitchen to cook in!
(but I am thankful for the small one that I have)
4. Being able to pay with US Dollars every where I go
(converting to €'s is a pain sometimes)
5. Starbucks!!
6. Dairy Queen Blizzards
7. Being able to go to college football games!
8. My friends from back home
9. The fall weather
(it's not the same here in Italy)
10. Enjoying the holidays with the fam.
(haven't had to experience a holiday yet with out them yet over here, but im sure its not going to be the same)
Well, thats all that I can think of, but Im sure that there are more..
I promise that my next post will be happier!
Hope you all enjoy your Monday off due to Columbus day!
Until Later,

O Curls, Curls! Where Forth Art Thou, Curls?

I know that this post might seem a little strange but I was thinking about this this afternoon...
I am wondering what happened to my natural curly hair???
It has gone from great curls to just normal straight hair, just out of no where. Well, maybe it has been going on since January when I was in bootcamp. Slowly since then it has gotten more straight.
Crazy!!!
I miss just being able to just get of the shower, put some mousse in it and be done with it! Now I have to blow dry it and then straighten it
So here are a couple of pics to show what I am talking about:

This was taken in July of last year and thats how it was like up to bootcamp:

And the current pic of me:

See what I mean!!

I only used the straightener just to make it lay better!

Sorry for having you to read about my crazy thoughts that just come out of no where!

Hope that you all have a GREAT day!

Until Later,

Just some thoughts...

Some thoughts since being here in Italy.....
Working and living in Italy has been great up to this point!
I have met so many great people so far and
have made some great new friends as well!
But at the moment I am feeling a little bit lonely even though I am surrounded by so many people.
I am missing my family, which I know is normal by moving so far away from home.
I am also missing my good friends at home and the ones that I made while I was at Naval Corps School.
And one of the few people that I am missing is a guy that I met while I was there, and he was also going to Corps school as well. I guess that you would call it just a little fling. It wasn't anything serious but he was one of the nicest guys that I have met in a while.
I think what I am missing about him is just his company. He was always so kind to me and always had compliments for me. And he was just nice to be around as well.
So currently he is stationed in San Diego and is going to be with the Marines and will most likely going to be deployed once he gets done with his training in
Field Medical Training.
And as you all know, I am stationed in Naples, Italy.
Just a little distance problem as of right now.
I know that I am going to have to get over this in the near future
and hopefully I will meet some great guy over here.
But I guess since I am feeling a little bit lonely right now, so maybe thats while I am having these feelings.
So other than that, Italy has been great!
The next post will be more interesting than what this one has been, I promise!!
So hope that you all have a great rest of the week!!

Ciao!

Well I made it to Italy!
I got into Naples on the 17th of July. So far it has been pretty nice. I think that Im going to like it here.
I still miss everyone back in the states.
I haven't really done a whole lot with my job just yet. I had to do a lot of online training before I could even get to my department. Im suppose to be working in opthalmology. That should be interesting, since I don't haveany clue about the eyes except for general information. So I will keep an opened mind to learn about it and it should turn out alright. One major plus of working in that department is that one of my coworkers is really awesome, so we should have some good times at work.
So last week I went on a winery tour in Taurasi, Italy. Let me tell you it was BEAUTIFUL!!! We went to the Caggiano Winery and it was just like what you would imagine Italy to look like with all of the vineyards. I will post pictures later!
So this weekend should be a good one.
Tonight Im going on another winery tour :)
Saturday, the plans are still being made and I will update you on that.
Sunday, Im going on another tour of a city, not really sure what the name of it is but it sounds really interesting.
So thats it for now.
Hope everyone has a great weekend!

I'm Back!

Hey everyone...if there is still people around thats going to read my blog since I have been MIA for the past 6 months. There's a good reason for me being gone...I went to bootcamp in Jan. I graduated from there on March 19 and then went straight to my A school for Hospital Corpsman. I just graduated from school on July 1. I had a couple weeks of leave which was really nice and the best part was to be able to be around my family for the whole time. Now I am stationed in Naples, Italy for 2 years working at the Naval Hospital that is on base. The base is really nice from what I can tell from what I have seen of it so far. So hopefully I will be better at posting to keep all of you updated on my travels here and what is going on.

Until later,

Until Later...

So my name of my blog is actually going to be starting in a couple of days!
But before I go on, just wanted to say that I had a great time on the cruise that I went on to the Bahamas on Norwegian Cruise Line. I can't wait to go back on another on with the same cruise line. (Especially their new ship, The Epic that they are going to have really soon. It looks AMAZING!)
I will have to post some pics another day, because I am crazy busy right at the moment.
So back to the title...I leave for bootcamp tomorrow! Where has the time gone? These past 10 months have flown by! I have to go meet with my recruiter at 1130 tomorrow I guess to finish up some paper work and then after that I will be taken up to St. Louis where the processing place is. I will spend the night up there and on the 20th I will get up really early and do my last bit of physicals. I think that the only things that they will really check is my weight, do a drug test and pregancy test and that should be it. I will swear in again, this time offically, and then I will be off to Great Lakes, IL to bootcamp.
So right now, I am doing pretty good. Just trying to get some last minute things done before I have to leave. I will be up there for 8 weeks and should graduate sometime around the 3rd week in March.
I am going to miss reading all of your posts while I am gone! Oh well, guess that will give me something to do when I get done.
I will do an update post once I graduate, just so that you all know that I made it lol
Until Later,
