so then on friday morning i got a call from my mom saying that i needed to go to her house and stay with my dog, tinker, because she is really afraid of storms and strong winds. so i did some running around that morning and then got to my parents house around 11 or a little after. thank goodness that i did go over there, because if i did stay at my house, my car would have gotten smashed by car limbs that fell arround my roommates car.
so about this inland hurricane...it was the worst storm that i have ever gone through! it was crazy! we had winds that got up to 106 mph! we were lucky that we had no damage to the house or vehicles, but some people were not as lucky. i will post pictures once the power gets back on. we have been without power since friday afternoon and we dont know when they will have it back on. there are about 45000 people in the surrounding area that are without power right now. but at least we have water and hot water as that!!
but we have been volunteering at the fire station since my dad is on the fire department...so we have been able to have good food and been able to stay busy during al of this. but during the night we have had a county wide curfew that goes from 2000-0600 to prevent extra traffic on the roads to get in the way of the crews and to prevent theft since there are a lot of businesses that are not opened because of the power outage.
so hopefully we will have power soon so that i can upload some pics just to show you what damages of an inland hurricane looks like.
